Job Description



JOB SUMMARY:



Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



* Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protective Agency (EPA).
* Advises safety director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
* Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.
* Maintains safety files and records.
* Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
* Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
* Coordinates annual inspections with vendors to ensure all facilities and equipment are compliant with all local, state, and federal authorities.



ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



* Acts as the face of department in the market and builds relationships with Senior Management to communicate our safety policies and procedures.
* Partners with Facilities to ensure facilities and equipment are properly being inspected and managed.
* Partners with Workers Compensation Department to ensure reducing work injuries and returning teammates back to work.
* Ability to travel ~40-50% to other markets within region.

QUALIFICATIONS:



* Strong business acumen
* Prior experience in Safety
* Communication skills
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Change management expertise



EDUCATION:
4 Year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
